Flashing a custom ROM for the HTC Touch Pro allows you to have the appropriate operating system as you want. as we know, flashing a custom ROM installed to remove non-essential software and implementing performance. In my experience, using a custom ROM is much better than the default ROM just because of the performance. The difference is night and day! Touch Flo 3D does not miss it, the program opens faster, switching between programs a lot faster, return to the main screen faster, and the overall system response is much faster than before.

NOTE: These steps are only applicable if you have a CDMA Touch Pro. These instructions WILL NOT WORK with * Touch Pro GSM. Also, if you go back to your phone for any reason, you have to flash back to the default ROM and relock the phone.

* If you have a GSM Touch Pro, the process is similar except you'll need to use both GSM and GSM unlocker custom ROM.
Preparation

Backup your personal information using a program such as PIM Backup (freeware). Also make sure your phone has at least 50% power.

Please read this guide and download all the necessary files first. That way, you know exactly what you are doing.

Unlock Phone
You will need to use HardSPL utility to activate the phone. It is a relatively simple procedure, all the instructions and files needed to do this can be found on the website in the resource box.

Download and install Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip if you have a Sprint Touch Pro. If you have a Verizon Touch Pro, use Verizon_HSPL_Package.zip.

Look through the thread and choose the ROM you like. Different custom ROM with software that has been installed, system settings, performance tweaks, and more.

Custom Flash ROM
Now you need to get the ROM Update Utility which can be found on the website in the resource box. Extract the RUU folder to somewhere on your hard drive, such as your desktop. Then copy the custom ROM file (RUU_signed.nbh) to the folder you just extracted bill. For example, the bill folder is located at C: \ Bill and custom ROM is located at C: \ Draft \ RUU_signed.nbh.

Turn off your phone by pressing the power button down until you get this message:

"Power will be turned off, and you may lose data if you do not save them Do you want to continue?."

Select "Yes" and the phone will be off. Now, hold off and volume down at the same time until you see the bootloader screen three colors. Then connect your phone via USB cable to your computer.
Once everything is connected correctly, run the program in a folder ROMUpdateUtility.exe ROM Updater Utility (eg C: \ Draft \ ROMUpdateUtility.exe). Follow the instructions on the screen to flash a custom ROM to your phone. Reboot your phone and enjoy ... finish your new custom Rom ... : D
